| 1999 - Sept 9 (27,775mi) - pickup in
Schaumberg, Illinois 2000 - August - ran over wheel barrel in 80mph. very strange - no time to avoid, at night, no impact felt at all. The wheel barrel looked like all metal during the 1.5 seconds that i saw it, but then in rear view mirror looked like wood debris. 2000 - Sept - near tipover up ski-slope road in Aspen, Colorado. Wrong turn lead to steep uphill, sliding backwards while shifting from regular 4x4 to low-gear 4x4 (which didn't help). 2000 - December - fun in the snow, started ok in -6F. 2001 - August - overheated crankshaft sensor from clutch after backing up 300HP boat uphill. Got towed from Page to Flagstaff, Arizona. 2002 - August - backtracking a trail that wasn't a trail lead to jeep bush-wacking, dead ends... and then a way out -- except for that ditch at the bottom. After half hour of dirt digging, and later 3 guys weighing the back, jeep made it without tipping. 2003 - May (157,000mi) - clutch finally gave out; replaced + damage to transmission fixed. 2003 - November - oil-sending-unit broke (gasket in oil filter area burst) 80 miles from Denver (Phoenix-Denver "moving" trip#1) 2003 - December (,000mi) - 4 Michelin MT/S M+S; 4 Monroe Sensa-Track shocks; new brake: rotors, drums, wheel cylinders, all pads; fuel filter + hose to fuel pump; 4x4 hand-shifter loose assembly tightened 2004 - Feb - ignition coil replaced (combined fix-effort with Denver tow truck driver - I carried the ignition coil for 2 years) 2004 - Feb - clutch pedal broke (clutch master/slave hydraulics replaced) 2004 - March (181,500mi) - waterpump replaced + thermostat + thermostat housing 2004 - April (182,282mi) - retired as primary-adventure-provider; now shares the role with 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2004 - Dec 6 (183,171mi) - sold to Boulder, Colorado :-(, but i had 2004 Grand Cherokee since April :-) |

| Thoughts: Looks great with bikes or bed on top. Pulls boats, just doesn't want to stop at stop sign if boat behind is too big. Likes snow, great in desert, nearly tipped once on uphill by Aspen, Colorado, once on downhill after bushwacking by Bumble Bee, Arizona. Great poser with front wheels turned left. |
| Cherokee fixing... Mr Fixit - no start (crankshaft position sensor... ignition module), last page |
