| Day 1 |
|
Denver ... Loveland Pass ... Keystone ...to... Leadville, Colorado |
We left Denver close to noon. Aneta was
willing to try snow camping with the help of a rented 0 Fahrenheit sleeping
bag. I was looking forward to a weekend of picture taking :-). There was
no real plan of places to go, but i wanted to start in the area of Leadville,
just 2 hours from Denver.
Somehow it was almost dark when
we got near Leadville. I found my old campspot from 1999, but this time
snow covered the trail leading to it. The snow didn't seem deep but there
was an incline along the way. After some side-sliding and tree brushing,
we arrived at a serene spot, interrupted only by the sound of cars on
a not-so-distant road.
