    Ferruginous Hawks
    Ferruginous Hawks
use their small feet when hunting burrowing mammals. With their feet in "fist" position they punch into the dirt of a burrow.

They are the only raptors which are very comfortable on the ground, even nesting on the ground.

    Ferruginous Hawks
are the largest hawks of North America. They migrate south to Arizona in the fall.
They hunt primarily rodents, especially prairie dogs.
